Frequently asked questions.

  • Gateway College (ages 18-25) is a ministry program to grow servant leaders who are unwavering in character for ministry and the marketplace. This means that we are careful to select the right individuals for the right reasons. Gateway College enrolls students who show exemplary standards of servant leadership, academic excellence, and spiritual maturity. They are expected to maintain these standards of excellence while attending the program. Students must apply to Gateway College as a leadership training program, as well as apply to SEU in order to be accepted.

  • When making comparisons between colleges (community college or otherwise), there are typically two factors that are key in the decision-making process: cost and experience. Because SEU and Gateway College strive to make college affordable and accessible, tuition and fees are structured to be comparable to many community college rates. So, the key factor then is the student experience. If your desire is to be equipped for life beyond college, then the comparison is really no comparison at all.

  • Like all higher education institutions, Southeastern University has specific guidelines on credit acceptance from other colleges. Generally, SEU will accept credits from other regionally accredited colleges; however, the transferability of credits depends on the student’s academic performance in those prior courses, as well as the course equivalency in the student’s degree program at SEU. Please contact the Offices of the Registrar (registrar@seu.edu) with specific questions pertaining to transfer of credits.

  • Gateway College will operate four days a week where students will be immersed in the culture of Gateway Church, gain practical ministry and leadership experience, and work towards their Bachelors or Associates degree. Students will have Fridays and Saturdays off. In addition to this, students will be required to serve on Sundays at Gateway Church as part of their practicum.

  • Based on our weekly schedule, there is an opportunity to work a part-time job, but we do not recommend attempting to work a full-time job. Aside from required special events from your practicum director and the site director, there are opportunities throughout the week to work.

  • Financial Aid is available through FASFA, for students eligible to receive federal and state financial aid, as well as outside scholarships, as accepted by SEU. Due to the significant tuition discount given to the partner site, no additional SEU scholarships can be awarded.
